A Magical Journey

Like many millennials, I grew up watching Disney movies and television shows. I knew all the words to “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” before I could form complete, coherent sentences. Obviously, I have my favorites–from DCOMs, to feature-length Disney films, to the many various television shows both on the Disney Channel and off.

But with the launch of Disney+ on November 12, we Disney fans have a unique opportunity. Nearly all of the Disney Vault is becoming available to us, in addition to a huge variety of Fox shows and movies that Disney required with that huge purchase a few months ago.

I don’t know about you, but I haven’t seen the vast majority of Disney’s created content. Glancing through a list of shows and movies available at the launch of Disney+, I haven’t even heard of some of the movies and television shows that are going to be available to stream.

So, in an effort to become a more well-rounded Disney fan and make the most of my $6.99/month Disney+ subscription, I have decided to embark on a truly magical journey:

To watch every Disney movie, Disney Channel Original Movie, Disney television show, Disney short, and piece of Fox content available on Disney+. And you’re welcome to join me.

Disney+ will have hundreds of titles available at launch for US viewers. Image: Disney

I’m going to provide my thoughts on each movie as I finish it, and each TV show in regular intervals (probably at the end of every season). For the original Disney+ shows, I’ll do my best to provide reviews at the end of each season, and a short post about my thoughts and feelings after each new episode airs.

These reviews will be honest looks at each piece of Disney–and Fox–history available to me. We’ll see if some of the older films hold up under a modern lens, or if they’re truly just products of their time (looking at you, practically everything produced before 1980).

I’m so excited for Disney+ to launch and to get this little project started. I hope you’re excited, too.
